Dr. Hiren Raval is working as a Scientist with India’s national laboratory under Council of Scientific and Industrial Research CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI). He is also an Assistant Professor at Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research AcSIR-CSMCRI. He has published 27 research papers in reputed journals including Desalination, RSC Advances, Applied surface science, Journal of applied polymer sciences, Desalination and water treatment etc. out of which, he was the corresponding author in 22. He has delivered many invited talks, lectures in national/international events and presented papers in many international conferences. He is an Associate Member of Royal Society of Chemistry (AMRSC), Life member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICHE), Life Member of Indian Desalination Association (InDA), Member of Gujarat Science Academy. He has been a reviewer of prestigious journals like Journal of Membrane Science, Chemical engineering, Environmental Science and Technology, Materials research express, Desalination and water treatment, Journal of water process engineering etc.

He is visiting University of Nebraska Lincoln as “Water advanced research and innovation fellow” of Indo-US Science and Technology Forum. He is undertaking research on emerging contaminants removal by a hybrid approach of membrane process and advanced oxidation. He has research interests in organic and biofouling of the membrane, surface modifications of the membrane to achieve superior performance in terms of water-flux and salt rejection and anti-fouling surface of the membrane. He is associated with Dr. Siamak Nejati’s group at Chemical and Bio-molecular engineering Department, University of Nebraska Lincoln and Water Sciences Laboratory, East Campus, University of Nebraska Lincoln.
